Frequently asked questions

Will every broken file be saved?

No. Structural damage is usually repairable, but if part of the file never arrived, that content does not exist and cannot be recovered.

Does repair change the content?

The goal is to preserve it. Unreadable sections are skipped, so some pages may come back missing.

Can you repair an encrypted broken file?

Remove the password first; the structure of an encrypted file can't be read.

When does it not help?

If the file isn't really a PDF (wrong extension) or is close to zero bytes, there is nothing to recover.
